Benefits Of Infrared Saunas

Sweat Out The Toxins

Sunlighten saunas, with the deepest infrared penetration, can help increase blood flow and perspiration. Sweating is one of the body’s safest and most natural ways to heal and maintain good health by helping to eliminate toxic heavy metals, drug residues, and hormone disruptors.

Increase Metabolism

Sunlighten’s specific near-infrared wavelength stimulates sluggish metabolism. Increasing core body heat can increase calorie burn, similar to exercise. Infrared saunas also help with the elimination of toxins that cause fat storage.

Improve Heart Health

Infrared therapy can help your heart work better by exercising the heart, reducing blood pressure, and improving circulation.

Reverse Aging & Renew Skin

Near-infrared LEDs has been shown to increase collagen and elastin, improving overall skin appearance. Increased circulation also contributes to faster cell regeneration, which helps with the appearance of scars.

Boost The Immune System

Heating the body from the inside can improve the function of the immune system just like fever can. Therefore, regular Sunlighten sauna use can help reduce the incidences of cold and flu, and even help you recover faster.

Repair Muscles Faster

Many professional athletes use Sunlighten saunas to recover from their training and injuries. Sunlighten’s mid-infrared spectrum can best penetrate joints and improve flexibility. Far infrared therapy is known to help with muscle soreness, whereas near-infrared helps with tissue regeneration.

  • At Sixtwo, we want to offer you only the best and highest quality products. One of the many differences between Sunlighten infrared saunas and other infrared saunas is the clinical testing and studies that show the unique effectiveness, safety, and quality of Sunlighten saunas. View the studies below at sunlighten.com/light-science/research.

The six pre-programmed health programs available only in the mPulse were created based on 56 data points from 37 different clinical studies on how infrared interacted with the body. This is a very important and special aspect of this sauna – it provides complete whole-body light therapy.

    • Detoxification - Increases core body temperature up to 3° for a deep, detoxifying sweat

    • Temporarily Reduced Blood Pressure - Double-blind placebo study showed a significant reduction in blood pressure with regular use.

    • Aid in Weight Loss – Infrared sauna use reduced waist circumference in a 3-month period

    • Increases Flexibility - A third-party study found that mPulse full spectrum infrared saunas increase flexibility up to 3x, using a blend of mid and far infrared.

    • Pure Infrared - 95-99% pure infrared light energy absorbed into the body

    • Safe, Non-Toxic Materials – 3rd party tested by multiple sources

    • Ultra Low EMF – 3rd party tested by VitaTech

  • • Wait at least 1-2 hours after eating before beginning an infrared sauna session.

    • Hydrate with a minimum of 250ml of water to prepare for an increase in core body temperature.

    • Make sure to wear clothes that you’re happy to sweat in. We recommend wearing bathers or sport shorts + a sports bra for women.

    • Bring a towel or 2 with you. You will need to sit on a towel during your session, we also recommend bringing a fresh towel to dry yourself off with after your session, or if you choose to take a shower afterwards. If you do not have towels or forget to bring a towel, we have towels you can rent.

    • Get ready to hydrate. We will have glasses of water in the room for you to drink during your session, however, if you prefer to bring a drink bottle, you are more than welcome to. We also have Sip hydrolyte powders and H2Coco Coconut Water for you to hydrate with after your session.

  • As an upfront or direct debit member, you will get 20% off sauna sessions and packs, excluding the intro offer.

You will need to input a discount code, to get this code, please send an email to hello@sixtwopilatesandyoga.com.au

  • You can take your phone into the sauna, however, this is the perfect chance to unplug and take some time for yourself.

We have Netflix and Bluetooth available for you within the sauna so don’t need to take your phone in with you. If you choose to take your phone into the sauna, please be cautious as the temperatures of the sauna can cause any devices to over-heat.

  • We always want to ensure we prioritise your health and safety. If you are at all concerned about using the Sauna with a medical condition, we recommend consulting with your doctor to ensure that the sauna is safe for you to use. If you have one of the below medical conditions, please consult your doctor before booking in a session.

    • Cardiovascular Issues, Obesity or Diabetes – Individuals suffering from obesity or with a

medical history of heart disease, low or high blood pressure, circulatory problems, or diabetes

should consult a physician prior to use. Heat stress increases cardiac output and blood flow in

an effort to transfer internal body heat to the outside environment via the skin (perspiration) and

respiratory system. This takes place primarily due to major changes in the heart rate, which has

the potential to increase by thirty (30) beats per minute for each degree increase in core body

    temperature.

    • Medications – Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician since some medications may induce drowsiness, while others may affect heart rate, blood pressure and circulation. Diuretics, barbiturates, and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms. Anticholinergics, such as amitriptyline, may inhibit sweating and can predispose individuals to heat rash or to a lesser extent, heat stroke. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heat stroke.

    • Alcohol & Drug Abuse – Contrary to popular belief, it is not advisable to attempt to “sweat out” a hangover. Alcohol intoxication decreases a person’s judgment; therefore, he/she may not realise when the body has a negative reaction to high heat. Alcohol also increases the heart rate, which may be further increased by heat stress. The use of alcohol, drugs, or medications prior to a sauna session may lead to unconsciousness.

    • Elderly – The ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. This is primarily due to circulatory conditions and decreased sweat gland function. The body must be able to activate its natural cooling processes in order to maintain core body temperature. If elderly, operate at a lower temperature and for no more than 15 minutes at a time.

  • You must be 18 years of age to use the Infrared Sauna.

  • Similar to the hot studio, pregnant clients are unable to use the Infrared Sauna. Once baby is born, you are more than welcome to use it with clearance from your OB.

  • Unfortunately not. We appreciate that finding time away from the kids can be tough, however, anyone under the 18 cannot be in Sauna, and the space is not safe for a child to be in whilst you're in the Sauna.

  • Yes. he sauna is located in a private room behind reception.

When you book a sauna session, you won’t be booked in with other clients. The sauna can fit up to 3 people, if you wish to bring a friend or two with you, you are more than welcome for an additional $15 per friend, otherwise you will be alone.

  • Sauna sessions are valid for 12 months from date of purchase.

  • We suggest wearing comfortable clothing that you’re happy to sweat in. We would recommend, sport shorts and a sports bra (for women) or bathers.

  • You will need to bring a towel, however, we recommend bring 2. One to sit on and one to wipe sweat off with. If you do not have, or forget to bring a towel, they can be rented for $3 each.

  • Infrared Saunas are intended to be more relaxing than other saunas. The sauna will be pre-heated for you, and we will show you how to use it. Depending on how you are with heat, you should expect to feel warm, but you may not sweat until you have done a few sessions. Unlike other temperature based therapies, being in the infrared sauna, is not meant to be mentally challenging. You should feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

Infrared heat works to increase your core body temperature, and work its way out, rather than heating the surface of the skin first. Therefore, you should expect to sweat and be warm for a period of time after your session.
